So my daughter is in her very first dance recital today! Her older sister did the dance thing for ten years...but this is the little one's first time! She is nervous but excited...and just looks stinkin' adorable in her tutu!
So how does this relate to the Adventures of Pocket Edward??? Am I just a mom with another venue to brag about her perfect children's accomplishments??? Well...yes...but it does have a connection!!!
I am the photographer for the dance studio...so a couple of weeks ago I set up at the studio to take all the little dancers pictures in their costumes...and of course this gave me the perfect opportunity to get a shot of little Ed! After all it was pivotal moment in both the book and the movie when he saved Bella from James at....yep...THE DANCE STUDIO!
But...
I'll admit to being pretty open about my twilight obsession. I usually pull out little Pocket Edward anywhere if I feel it will make a good picture for the blog...but I don't pull him out at work! As the photography studio owner and the photographer...I do TRY to maintain a sense of professionalism...of course I think my regular customers are on to me! So I kept trying to sneak him out for the shot...and looking over my shoulder...and hoping one of my customers didn't catch me!
Finally, after many failed attempts...I decided it would be best to wait until the pictures were over and I was packing up the equipment. So after all the little dancers left I tried again...but my daughter's instructor was still there! Really wasn't ready for her to look at my daughter in each class and think "wow...poor kid...her mom's a freak..."
But fortunately...the studio phone rang, right before I packed up the last box....so the WONDERFUL (holy cow I love her....) dance teacher had to run into the office...YAY...not long...but here was my opportunity! No time to compose the perfect shot...no time to pull out the big, bad expensive professional camera either...just grab the hubby's "point and shoot" from Walmart, that was still in my purse luckily...and get the picture!!!!
So there is my long-winded explanation of how our little Pocket Edward finally got his picture in a real dance studio!
